Senior Malacologist/Aquatic Biologist
Ms. Winterringer joined ESI as a Malacologist in 2004. Her responsibilities include project management, report and proposal preparation, and field study supervision. She has managed threatened and endangered mussel projects, baseline biological surveys, and biomonitoring surveys throughout the Ohio and Mississippi River Basins. Prior to joining ESI, Ms. Winterringer worked in academia, government, and private industry and has experience throughout the eastern and southeastern United States. Her graduate research evaluated the status of an endangered species in Arkansas, including habitat, life history information, associated fauna, and stream quality. Ms. Winterringer is also experienced with techniques and methods used in aquatic studies involving freshwater fishes and macroinvertebrates, wetland delineations, water quality testing and monitoring, and stream habitat evaluations. She is SCUBA and CPR and basic lifesaving certified, and has completed Hazardous Waste Operation and wetland delineation training. Ms. Winterringer is a member of the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society and the North American Benthological Society.
