Full Time Dive Coordinator/Supervisor

St. Louis, MO Office (Fieldwork throughout Midwestern U.S.)

Ecological Specialists, Inc. (ESI) is a small environmental consulting firm with a office in St. Louis, MO that provides biological surveys (mussels, fish, invertebrates) for industry, government, and public clients primarily within rivers of the the midwestern U.S.  ESI is taking applications for a  dive supervisor position.  Primary responsibilities are to assist with aquatic surveys as a supervisor, diver, tender, and biotechnician.  Additional responsibilities include maintenance and repair of dive equipment (surface-supplied air, SCUBA, and communication systems), boats/motor, and other field gear; preparation of dive and safety plans; and assist with data collection and recording.  Much of the diving will be in medium to large rivers, often with no visibility, to collect freshwater mussels and riverbed samples. 

Qualifications:

•  ADCI Commercial Diver Supervisor Certification

•  Current Physical (ADCI/Army Corps of Engineers criteria), First Aid, Oxygen, CPR certification

•  Ability to maintain and repair dive and other field equipment

•  Advanced boat operation and maintenance skills preferred

•  Familiarity with OSHA, ADCI, and Corps of Engineers diving regulations and dive plans

•  Flexible schedule and willingness/ability to travel around the eastern U.S. for field studies

•  Professionalism, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others

•  Computer skills (Word, Excel, etc) are highly desirable

•  Organizational skills along with record keeping.

Experienced Diver/Tender

Ecological Specialists, Inc., is looking for a full time experienced Commercial Inland Diver/Tender.  Applicants for this position must have at least 2 years experience and an ADCI Surface-Supplied Air Diver Certification.
